This guide explains how she invests, what ARK owns right now, and how to follow her book at your own budget with Loomi.Ai Legends. We also cover the risks, because a style this bold cuts both ways.
The comeback, by the numbers
ARKK more than doubled the S&P 500's return in 2025, and it is up double digits again in 2026. In 2025, ARK's funds averaged a 39.54% return against 16.39% for the S&P 500 and 20.36% for the Nasdaq (>Seeking Alpha).
| Period | ARKK | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 year to date (Sep 24) | +16.7% | >PortfoliosLab |
| 2025 | +35.49% | >PortfoliosLab |
| 2024 | +8.40% | >PortfoliosLab |
| 2023 | +69.04% | >PortfoliosLab |
| 12 months to Apr 9, 2026 | +52% (S&P 500 +22%) | >Motley Fool |
| 5 years to Sep 2026, annualized | −7.5% (S&P 500 +11.2%) | >Motley Fool |
The ride is never smooth. ARKK fell 9.58% early in 2026 before rallying back (>Kavout), and its worst drawdown was −80.97% in December 2022. The five-year number still reflects that crash.
Her style: conviction you can watch in real time
Wood bets on disruptive innovation and says so out loud. She founded ARK in 2014 after AllianceBernstein, where she ran global thematic strategies, judged her idea for innovation ETFs too risky (>Wikipedia). In 2020 ARKK was the top-performing global equity fund with at least $1 billion in assets.
Three habits define how she trades:
- Concentration. The top 10 holdings make up about half the fund, and Tesla alone is 9.38% (>StockAnalysis).
- Active trading. Portfolio turnover runs about 43% a year. She often buys and sells the same names several times in a year (>Motley Fool).
- Radical transparency. ARK publishes its trades every day through free >trade notifications. Most funds show their hand once a quarter, up to 45 days after it ends.
That last point is what makes her so followable. With most managers you copy a 13F that is weeks old. With ARK, you can see what she bought yesterday.
What ARKK owns now
Tesla is still her biggest bet, SpaceX is new near the top, and crypto platforms and AI health care fill out the rest. ARKK holds 46 names, has $9.59 billion in assets and charges 0.75% a year (>StockAnalysis, checked Sep 24, 2026).
| # | Holding | Theme | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tesla (TSLA) | Autonomy, robotics | 9.38% |
| 2 | SpaceX (SPCX) | Space | 6.01% |
| 3 | Tempus AI (TEM) | AI health care | 5.58% |
| 4 | Circle Internet Group (CRCL) | Digital assets | 5.04% |
| 5 | Coinbase (COIN) | Digital assets | 4.62% |
| 6 | CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP) | Gene editing | 4.44% |
| 7 | Robinhood (HOOD) | Fintech | 4.16% |
| 8 | Twist Bioscience (TWST) | Synthetic biology | 3.64% |
| 9 | 10x Genomics (TXG) | Genomics | 3.25% |
| 10 | Shopify (SHOP) | E-commerce | 3.07% |
The top 10 add up to 49.19% of the fund. Back in April, AMD, Roku and Roblox were in the top 10 and Tesla was at 10.54% (>Motley Fool), a sign of how fast she rotates.
How to follow her with Loomi.Ai Legends
Legends turns Cathie Wood's reported book into a stock-by-stock shopping list sized to your budget. Pick her, enter your amount, and the Desk keeps the same mix.
On a $2,000 budget, the top five weights above work out like this:
| Holding | Weight | Your dollars on $2,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Tesla | 9.38% | $187.60 |
| SpaceX | 6.01% | $120.20 |
| Tempus AI | 5.58% | $111.60 |
| Circle | 5.04% | $100.80 |
| Coinbase | 4.62% | $92.40 |
Then use the rest of the Desk to time and size it:
- Check the Buy Zone. Ascent shows whether each name is early in Stage 2 or already extended.
- Size through VIX Gate. When fear is high, it cuts how much you put to work.
- Confirm with options flow. See whether smart money is leaning the same way she is.
- Watch her daily trades. Legends shows the book; ARK's daily notifications show the moves between filings.
Know the risks
- It's volatile. ARKK fell 80.97% from peak to trough into December 2022 and is still down 7.5% a year over five years.
- It's concentrated. Half the fund sits in 10 names, and Tesla and SpaceX together are about 15%.
- Copies lag. A reported portfolio is not a live view. By the time you buy, she may have moved on.
- Size it as a slice. A high-conviction book like hers works best as one part of a wider portfolio, not the whole thing.
