04 Take Profit Trader

takeprofittrader.com

Adversarially verified 6 load-bearing claims · no corrections needed.

$25,000Evaluation subscription approx. $150/month (billed monthly until pass/cancel/reset); activation fee to go PRO reported as $130 standard, frequently waived via promo codes (e.g. NOFEE40, 50AND3). Numbers are third-party corroborated across 3+ independent sources; not confirmed on the official pricing page directly (blocked WebFetch/JS-rendered table).

Evaluation phase

Profit target
$1,500 (6% of account size) - third-party corroborated, consistent across multiple independent sources
Max drawdown
$1,500
Drawdown type
End-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown - CONFIRMED on official help-center article 'Rule 3: Do Not Hit End-Of-Day (EOD) Maximum Trailing Drawdown'. Trails the highest EOD balance upward using realized P&L only (calculated once per day at the close), locks permanently once it reaches the original starting balance.
Daily loss limit
None. TPT removed the daily loss limit firm-wide in January 2025; confirmed via official FAQ text ('no daily loss limits') and consistent third-party sourcing.
Consistency rule
No single trading day may equal or exceed 50% of total net profit accumulated so far. This does NOT fail the test outright - the trader can keep trading until the largest single day drops back under the 50% threshold as total profit grows. Confirmed on official help-center 'Rule 5: Be Consistent' and official FAQ.
Minimum trading days
3 trading days minimum, effective for evaluations purchased on/after 2026-08-17 (official press release, PRNewswire; official TPT blog 'Take Profit Trader Changes Evals from 5 to 3 Days'). Prior/legacy requirement was 5 trading days; older evaluations/resets may still carry the 5-day rule.
Max contracts
3 standard futures contracts; up to 30 micro contracts (10x on permitted micro products) - third-party corroborated (propvator.com and others), not verified on official site directly.
Other pass rules
No counter-positions (cannot hold opposing positions in the same/closely-related product across your own accounts) - CONFIRMED official 'Rule 6'. Trade only CME-approved products during approved hours (flat by 5pm ET, no overnight/weekend) - CONFIRMED official 'Rule 4'. Exceeding max contract size even momentarily is an automatic fail. Unlimited simultaneous Test accounts permitted. Test reset fee reported around $79-$100 (third-party, not officially confirmed).

Funded phase

Account type
PRO = simulated-funded (SIM) account, first funded tier reached automatically on passing the Test. PRO+ = live-market account, routed to the real exchange, reached only by discretionary invitation from TPT after sustained PRO profitability (third-party reports ~10 profitable trading days and/or ~$5k profit on PRO as informal benchmarks TPT uses to decide who gets an invite; TPT itself states there is no fixed published threshold and evaluation is holistic).
Activation / monthly fee
PRO: one-time activation fee, standard $130, frequently run at $0 during promotions (official FAQ: 'no PRO+ activation fees' during current promo; base fee historically $130 per third-party sourcing). No recurring monthly fee for PRO or PRO+ (confirmed on official FAQ). PRO+ traders reportedly pay ~$135/month extra only if they opt into non-CME exchange data (third-party, unconfirmed on official site).
Drawdown
$1,500 on PRO (equal to the Test drawdown amount for this tier, per official 'How to Keep Track of Your Drawdown' description that PRO buffer = the max drawdown amount). PRO+ reported to use the same or an EOD-based equivalent (third-party).
Drawdown type
PRO: intraday trailing drawdown - CONFIRMED official (calculated continuously through the day using peak balance including open/unrealized gains, not just end-of-day close; this is the single biggest behavioral change vs. the Test's EOD-only calculation and is reported as the most common cause of new-funded-account blowups in week one). PRO+: reverts to end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown (third-party corroborated, not text-confirmed on an official PRO+-specific rules page in this pass).
Daily loss limit
None on PRO or PRO+ (same firm-wide removal as of Jan 2025).
Consistency / payout rule
None on PRO or PRO+ - the 50% consistency rule is explicitly dropped once funded, per official FAQ and official 'PRO Account Rules' summaries. No separate payout-specific consistency requirement was found.
Payout schedule
Withdrawals available from day one, no minimum profitable-day count, no payout schedule/window, and (on PRO) no maximum withdrawal amount above the required buffer - confirmed via official FAQ. Minimum single payout request reported at $250 (a $50 fee applies to requests at or under that minimum; some third-party sources instead cite a $100 minimum for the PRO-to-wallet leg) - THIRD-PARTY, figures conflict slightly across sources, treat as approximate. Processing: PRO-to-wallet ~1 business day (instant via Plaid in many cases), wallet-to-bank ~1-3 business days via ACH/Wise/PayPal, same-day via wire (third-party).
Profit split
PRO: 80% to trader / 20% to firm (80/20) - CONFIRMED official. PRO+: 90% to trader / 10% to firm (90/10) - CONFIRMED official.
Scaling / contract limits
Max contract allotment is a static number per account size (same as the Test-phase cap for that tier - no profit-based scaling up or down is documented). Maximum of 5 active PRO/PRO+ accounts combined per trader - CONFIRMED official ('Rules for Multiple Accounts').
Other funded rules
PRO must place at least one trade every calendar week (Sun-Fri) to remain active - CONFIRMED official. A 'buffer zone' equal to the max drawdown amount above the starting balance must be maintained on PRO before withdrawals of profit at the stated split become unrestricted (official FAQ: 'Buffer equals drawdown amount; withdrawals above it use stated split'). PRO+ reportedly has no buffer-zone requirement, allowing profit to be taken same-day without restriction (official FAQ language: 'no buffer zone requirements' for PRO+).
$50,000Evaluation subscription approx. $170/month; PRO activation fee ~$130 standard (often waived via promo). Third-party corroborated.

Platforms: Tradovate, NinjaTrader 8, Rithmic (R-Trader), and SierraChart are all supported for connecting to a Take Profit Trader account. Test and PRO accounts trade in a simulated (SIM) environment (orders route to Rithmic/Tradovate/CQG infrastructure but do not reach the live exchange; TPT settles P&L internally). PRO+ is the only tier that routes live to the exchange. Data feed is CQG or Rithmic depending on account type; CME market data is included, other exchange data is a reported extra ~$135/month (third-party sourced, not verified on the official site).
Universal conduct rules: Confirmed on the firm's own site/help-center/press materials: (1) No overnight or weekend holding on any account type (Test, PRO, PRO+) — all positions and working orders must be flat by 5:00pm ET Mon-Fri; TPT auto-flattens anything still open at 4:55pm ET as a backstop. (2) Minimum evaluation trading days was cut from 5 to 3 effective 2026-08-17 (official press release via PRNewswire/Yahoo Finance and the firm's own blog post "Take Profit Trader Changes Evals from 5 to 3 Days"); this 3-day minimum applies only to evaluations purchased on/after 2026-08-17, older/reset evaluations may still carry the old 5-day requirement. (3) Daily loss limit was removed firm-wide as of January 2025 — no daily loss limit exists on Test or PRO/PRO+ today; only the trailing/EOD drawdown constrains losses. (4) Consistency rule (no single trading day may equal or exceed 50% of total net profit) applies ONLY during the Test/evaluation phase and does not fail the test outright — it just means the trader must keep trading until the best day is under 50% of the (growing) total profit; the rule is dropped entirely once funded (PRO/PRO+). (5) Maximum 5 active PRO/PRO+ accounts combined per trader (not 5 of each) — implies a practical cap of 5 x $150K = $750K of simultaneous funded buying power; unlimited Test/evaluation accounts may be run concurrently. (6) No counter-positions rule: a trader may not hold opposing positions in the same or closely-related futures products across accounts under their control. (7) No fully automated/bot/algorithmic execution of trades — the firm's Universal Trading Policies (UTP) state trades must be manually executed; third-party sources report nuance that personal, trader-owned automation via approved connections (TradersPost, PickMyTrade, NinjaTrader/Tradovate webhooks) is tolerated if not coordinated across multiple TPT accounts, and that pure latency/infrastructure-exploiting HFT and layered grid/martingale order strategies are the specific targets of enforcement — this nuance is THIRD-PARTY sourced (medium confidence), not confirmed verbatim on TPT's own UTP page text. (8) News-trading restriction: Test/evaluation accounts are currently allowed to trade through news; PRO and PRO+ funded accounts must be flat (no open positions, no working orders) 1 minute before, during, and 1 minute after designated high-impact events (FOMC statements Wed 2:00pm ET, NFP, CPI, Crude Oil Inventories); TPT reviews PRO accounts for news-window violations before approving payouts. (9) Approved products are CME Group futures/micros only (ES/MES, NQ/MNQ, RTY/M2K, YM/MYM, CL, NG, GC, SI, HG, ZC, ZS, ZW per third-party sourcing); Treasury products (ZB, ZN) are reportedly excluded — this specific product list is THIRD-PARTY sourced, not directly confirmed on the official site in this research pass. (10) Weekly activity requirement on PRO: at least one trade every calendar week (Sun-Fri) to keep the account active. (11) KYC and MFA are required to activate a funded account (from the firm's own FAQ/help-center listing).
News & overnight: No overnight or weekend position holds are permitted on any account type; all trading days run roughly 6:00pm ET to 5:00pm ET the next session, and everything must be flat by 5:00pm ET (auto-flatten backstop at 4:55pm ET). News trading is unrestricted during the Test/evaluation phase but blacked out on funded PRO/PRO+ accounts for a window (-1 min to +1 min) around FOMC, NFP, CPI, and similar high-impact releases; violating the funded-account news blackout can block payout approval.
