Buys a sharp dip inside a rising market, then sells the bounce back.
Mean Reversion · Equities · Daily / NQ · 60m
Legend is a mean reversion strategy, which means it bets on price returning to normal after it stretches too far. It buys a short, sharp drop inside a longer-term uptrend, then sells the bounce back. Markets rarely move in a straight line. Even in a strong uptrend, price often falls too far too fast, and that burst of selling usually runs out before the bigger trend resumes. Legend is built to spot that moment and ride the recovery back toward the trend.
Day to day, Legend mostly waits. It only acts when a real oversold flush shows up inside a confirmed uptrend: a fast drop that leaves the price low compared with its recent range. Most sessions it does nothing rather than force a trade. When the conditions line up, it buys, then exits once the bounce has played out. The exact triggers, thresholds and timing are private. They ship with the strategy itself, not on this page.
Legend scans stocks on daily charts and NQ (the Nasdaq 100 futures contract) on 60-minute charts for a longer-term uptrend that has just seen a sharp, short-term drop. It measures that drop with RSI, a gauge of how hard and fast price has fallen or risen.
Not every drop qualifies. Legend checks that the larger uptrend is still intact before it commits, because buying a dip inside a broken trend is a different and riskier trade. If the trend does not hold up, it stands down.
Legend buys into the drop and holds for the snapback, the quick bounce back toward the trend. It exits once that move plays out rather than hoping for a bigger swing. The exact rules ship with the code.
Legend fits people who trade stocks on daily charts or NQ on the 60-minute chart and want a rules-based way to buy dips in a rising market without watching every tick.

Test window and data: Equities daily 2000–2026 · NQ 60m 2025–2026
Cost model: Commission $0.62/contract (futures) · 0.10%/trade (equities) · slippage 1 tick (a small price slip assumed on every fill) · pyramiding 0 (never adds to an open position) · bar-close calc only (every decision is made at the close of a bar) · fixed size (the same position size on every trade)
Verification: Checked twice: the same rules were run separately on TradingView and in Python, and both runs had to agree. The public certificate carries the record hash, a digital fingerprint that shows the numbers have not been altered since.
These are backtested results, meaning the rules were run on past price data. They are historical and hypothetical, they include the modeled costs above, and they do not guarantee future performance.

Trend Lock only trades when a trend is genuinely strong, and Legend looks for the dip inside that trend. Used together, they aim to keep you buying dips only when the bigger picture supports the trade.
